We are all set to spice up things for you little by little with our super delicious monthly recipes section. So, are you ready for this month’s recipe?
We are all about simplicity, functional foods, convenience and enjoyable nutrition. Whoever said healthy food can’t always taste nice, obviously didn’t taste the right stuff.
So here we are re-inventing the wheel but with some delicious twists! So, first up is our take on (all too Instagram famous) Spiced Smoothie bowl.
As you may know, smoothie bowls can be a good source of fiber, protein, healthy fats and carbohydrates to start your day or help you refuel after a workout. One needs to be careful though and ensure that these Insta-worthy bowls of delight are not too calorie-heavy and that they deliver what they promise.
Health Benefits of Smoothie Bowls
Smoothie bowls share a lot of the same health benefits as regular smoothies. They are intrinsically healthy as they contain a lot of whole foods.
Fresh or frozen fruit and vegetables help you easily increase your vitamin and mineral intake for the day. They’re also a great way to sneak in superfoods.
Our version of Spiced smoothie bowl, does just that. You can use any fruits or veggies that you like or are lying around in the fridge with no set goal. And if you are not into using a lot of spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric, saffron or rose petals in your regular cooking then this is your chance to incorporate all of them. These spices are not only good for their individual unique flavour but also have a lot of health benefits, especially on our metabolic system. (stay tuned for our blogs on health benefits of each spice coming soon).
The goodness of nuts such as Australian almonds, cashews and pistachios are well known for heart and brain health and also to maintain a healthy weight. And we have combined this healthy goodness of nuts and spices in an aromatic, delicate blend called Spiced Almond Latte.
This blend can not only create a delicious, caffeine-free, healthy latte but the powder can also be added to various drinks and desserts and is suitable for all ages.
So, try our simple and easy Spiced Smoothie bowl and get creative towards achieving mindful and purposeful nutrition that your body deserves.
